What we do

We take a public affairs perspective to engaging in government relations and public policy, supplying information, providing operational support and training clients to advocate in a lawful, skillful and effective manner.

We work to strengthen your business by identifying opportunities and risks through active and ongoing efforts to engage with stakeholders in the government and civil society throughout the entirety of the public policy process.

PATRI does not:

  • Represent its clients to decision makers, that is, it does not speak on their behalf
  • Intermediate or negotiate business deals between the public and private sectors
  • Accept clients that bring cases it considers unworkable
  • Teach how to “cut corners” in the truest sense of the word. In other words: PATRI does not engage in influence peddling, use inside information or offer magic solutions
  • Represent third parties or participate in public bidding
  • Work with subcontracted consultants
  • Look for human resources through the well-known “revolving doors” or former employees and public officials, thus avoiding conflicts of interest
  • Include government “appointed” relatives or spouses among its employees, partners or service providers
"Public affairs represents an organization’s efforts to monitor and manage its business environment"

Public Affairs

Operating from a public affairs perspective means working in synergy on activities that involve government relations, communications, marketing, corporate social responsibility, and reputation management, and monitoring international affairs and trends in civil society.

Following this logic, PATRI designs strategies to analyze issues, identify stakeholders and optimal time for action, prepare narratives and align messages for ongoing communication with government and civil society participants.

We strive for know-how and the exercise of best practices in the United States, Europe and Canada. PATRI is concerned, above all, with the philosophies and issues defined by the Public Affairs Council, a U.S. association headquartered in Washington DC, made up of experienced public affairs professionals engaged in the dissemination of good practices.
